![]() Part 2: Your Career and Computing
Some of you may be interested in pursuing a career in a computing field such as web development, software engineering or electrical engineering. If so, great! I’m guessing a number of you probably aren’t expecting to do that, though. For this part of the assignment, I want you to look up how computing affects a field you think you might be interested in studying. For example, if you are interested in pursuing nursing, it would be very useful for you to know that Nursing Information Specialists are in high demand. If you’re interested in being a journalist, you might investigate the role of social networking in providing news. If you’re interested in becoming an FBI agent, read about how agency records are now linked by an expensive computer system. If you want to be an auto mechanic, you might be interested in reading one mechanic saying that “computers have become as much a part of the tool box as wrenches.” You have a lot of freedom in the direction you take this, so make sure you use the time to discover information useful to you as you make choices about your future. If you are interested in a computing career, dig deeper into the specifics of what you might be interested in. Robotics? Network administration? What do those mean? Your will produce a PowerPoint presentation with at least the following features:
